Where Imaging Becomes a Clear Diagnosis

A scan only matters when the image is clear, the report is accurate, and your physician receives it in time to act. At ODC we built our radiology department around that simple truth. Every patient walking into our G-8 Markaz facility passes through the same pathway — calibrated equipment, trained sonographers and radiographers, consultant radiologist review, and a finalised report delivered on the day it was promised.

Our medical imaging centre is referred to by clinics and hospitals across Islamabad and Rawalpindi for one reason — the diagnostic findings written on our reports can actually be acted on. We combine modern scanners with qualified human interpretation, transparent pricing confirmed before booking, and a workflow that respects your time as much as your clinical concern.

Magnetic Resonance

MRI Scan in Islamabad — Soft Tissue Detail Without Radiation

Magnetic Resonance Imaging is the modality your doctor reaches for when soft tissue detail decides the diagnosis. Using powerful magnetic fields and radiofrequency pulses instead of ionising radiation, MRI can be safely repeated when a condition needs monitoring over time. Our scanner is used daily for brain MRI in stroke and headache workups, spine MRI for disc disease and sciatica, joint MRI for sports injuries, and abdominal-pelvic MRI for liver lesions and gynaecological evaluation.

The clinical value of an MRI lies in what it shows that nothing else can. Multiple sclerosis plaques, early ligament tears, pituitary microadenomas and subtle cartilage damage all become visible when other studies report nothing. Our radiologists select the right sequences for each referral — T1, T2, FLAIR, DWI, post-contrast — so the report genuinely supports the next step in your treatment.

Computed Tomography

CT Scan in Islamabad — Fast, Detailed Cross-Sectional Imaging

Computed Tomography is the investigation emergency departments and consultants reach for when answers are needed quickly. A CT scan acquires hundreds of thin X-ray slices and reconstructs them into detailed cross-sectional images of organs, bones, blood vessels and soft tissue. At ODC we offer the full range of plain and contrast-enhanced CT studies across brain, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine and the vascular tree, all conducted in strict compliance with ALARA radiation safety principles.

Head & Brain CT

Stroke, head injury, intracranial bleeding and sinus disease workup.

Chest & CTPA

Lung nodules, pulmonary embolism and interstitial lung disease.

Abdomen & Pelvis

Acute abdomen, kidney stones, bowel pathology and liver lesions.

CT Angiography

Coronary, carotid, renal and peripheral vascular evaluation.

Sonography

Ultrasound in Islamabad — Safe, Real-Time, Radiation-Free

Ultrasound is the workhorse of any modern radiology department, and for good reason. It is safe, repeatable, completely radiation-free, and capable of answering a remarkable number of clinical questions in real time. Because there is no ionising radiation involved, ultrasound is the preferred modality for pregnancy monitoring, paediatric scanning and any clinical situation that requires repeated imaging.

Our ultrasound services cover the full diagnostic spectrum — abdominal scans for liver, gallbladder, pancreas and kidneys, pelvic ultrasound for gynaecological assessment, obstetric scans for pregnancy dating, anomaly screening and growth monitoring, plus dedicated thyroid, breast, scrotal and musculoskeletal evaluation. Every examination is conducted by trained sonographers and reviewed by experienced radiologists before the report is finalised.

Colour Doppler — Mapping Blood Flow with Precision

Colour Doppler is a specialised form of ultrasound that visualises both the direction and velocity of blood flow inside vessels, colour-coded in real time and supported by spectral measurements. This is the study that confirms or excludes deep vein thrombosis in a swollen leg, identifies carotid artery stenosis in a stroke-risk patient, evaluates peripheral arterial disease, and assesses varicose veins before surgical intervention.

In obstetric practice, fetal Doppler studies are essential for monitoring high-risk pregnancies — umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery and uterine artery Doppler can detect placental insufficiency, fetal growth restriction and fetal distress at a stage when clinical management can still change the outcome. We also provide renal Doppler for transplant assessment, hepatic Doppler for portal hypertension, and scrotal Doppler for testicular torsion evaluation.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an MRI and a CT scan?
CT uses X-rays for fast cross-sectional imaging and is excellent for bone injury, acute haemorrhage and lung disease. MRI uses magnetic fields and is preferred for brain, spinal cord, joint and abdominal soft-tissue evaluation. Neither is universally better — your doctor selects whichever answers the clinical question most directly.
Is ultrasound safe during pregnancy?
Yes. Ultrasound uses sound waves rather than ionising radiation and is the global standard for pregnancy monitoring. At ODC we offer dating scans, anomaly scans, growth scans and fetal Doppler studies across all trimesters.
How long will I wait for my radiology report?
Standard ultrasound and X-ray reports are usually ready the same day. CT and MRI reports are typically finalised within 24 hours. The expected report time is confirmed when you book.
Do I need to fast before my scan?
It depends on the study. Plain X-rays, MSK MRI and pelvic ultrasounds require no fasting. Abdominal ultrasound usually needs 4–6 hours of fasting. CT or MRI with contrast requires fasting and a recent kidney function test. Exact instructions are given at booking.
How much does an MRI or CT scan cost in Islamabad at ODC?
The cost depends on body region, modality and whether contrast is required. All pricing is confirmed clearly at booking — no extra charges are added afterwards. Call 0335-3312222 for an exact quote.
Are imaging scans safe? Is there any radiation risk?
Ultrasound, MRI and Doppler use no ionising radiation and are very safe for repeated use. X-ray and CT involve small radiation doses kept as low as reasonably achievable. Contrast media carry a small allergic risk, which is why we screen every patient before administration.
Can I book a radiology appointment without a doctor's referral?
For most ultrasound and X-ray studies you can book directly. CT, MRI and contrast studies usually require a referral so the right protocol can be selected for your clinical question. Call us and we will guide you.
