Where Whole-Person Healthcare Begins

Most medical problems do not arrive neatly labelled. A patient walks in with fatigue, or chest discomfort, or a child who is not gaining weight, and the role of a good medicine allied clinic is to listen properly, examine thoroughly, investigate accurately, and put together a treatment plan that respects both the disease and the person carrying it. At ODC Medicine Allied Clinic this is the standard we work to with every consultation.

Our clinic brings together internal medicine, cardiology, pediatrics, oncology, rheumatology, women's health, geriatric medicine and allergy under a single roof — meaning patients with complex or overlapping conditions do not need to chase multiple appointments across multiple locations. With on-site laboratory, radiology and pharmacy services, the diagnostic loop is closed within days rather than weeks, and follow-up actually happens because the care pathway is built around continuity rather than transactional visits.

Chronic Disease Management

Long-Term Care for Diabetes, Hypertension & Heart Disease

Chronic conditions are the silent burden of modern medicine — diabetes, hypertension, asthma and heart disease together account for the majority of long-term health complications in Pakistan. The difference between a controlled chronic condition and a complicated one usually comes down to consistent follow-up, not heroic treatment. Our clinic builds that consistency into the care pathway.

For diabetic patients, we provide structured HbA1c monitoring, retinal screening referral, foot examination and cardiovascular risk evaluation alongside medication review. Hypertensive patients receive scheduled blood pressure assessment, lifestyle counselling and target-organ damage screening. For heart disease and asthma patients, the focus is on prevention of exacerbation, symptom control and optimising functional capacity for daily life.

Preventive Medicine

The Best Treatment is the One You Never Need

Preventive medicine is what distinguishes a good general physician from a great one. Identifying cardiovascular risk before the first heart attack, catching diabetes at the pre-diabetic stage, screening for cancer when it is still curable, and updating vaccinations before exposure — these are the actions that quietly add decades of healthy life without making headlines.

Our preventive medicine service covers annual health check-ups, cardiovascular risk profiling, cancer screening, diabetes screening, bone density assessment, and full vaccination programmes for children, adults and travellers. Each preventive consultation is age-tailored — the screening priorities for a 25-year-old are different from those for a 55-year-old, and we structure the visit accordingly.

Immunisation Services — Vaccinations You Can Trust

Vaccines remain one of the most cost-effective interventions in modern medicine, and our immunisation service covers the full range of routine and travel-related vaccinations for patients of every age. For children we follow the national Expanded Programme on Immunisation schedule, with optional vaccines available where parents wish to add cover beyond the baseline. For adults we offer tetanus boosters, influenza vaccination, pneumococcal cover for at-risk patients, and COVID-19 boosters as supply permits.

Travellers planning trips to Hajj, Umrah, or international destinations can access meningococcal, hepatitis A, typhoid and yellow fever vaccines subject to availability. All vaccines administered at ODC are sourced through verified suppliers, stored under proper cold-chain conditions, and recorded in your patient file so that future boosters can be tracked accurately.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a medicine allied clinic treat?
A medicine allied clinic provides general internal medicine plus specialist consultation across cardiology, pediatrics, oncology, rheumatology, women's health, geriatric medicine and allergy. It is the first point of contact for most chronic illnesses, preventive screening, vaccinations and complex multi-system conditions.
Do I need a referral to see a specialist at ODC?
No referral is required. Patients can book directly with any of our specialty consultants. If your condition needs cross-specialty input, our team will coordinate the additional referrals internally.
How often should I get a full health check-up?
Adults under 40 with no chronic conditions should consider a basic health check every 2 years. From 40 onwards a yearly check is recommended, with additional screening for diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol and cardiovascular risk. Patients with existing chronic disease require more frequent monitoring based on their condition.
Which vaccinations are available at ODC?
We offer childhood immunisation (BCG, polio, pentavalent, MMR, hepatitis B), adult vaccines (tetanus boosters, influenza, pneumococcal, COVID-19 boosters), and travel vaccines including hepatitis A, typhoid and yellow fever where supply is available.
Can I manage diabetes and hypertension at ODC?
Yes. Diabetes and hypertension are the two most common chronic conditions we manage. Our service includes HbA1c monitoring, blood pressure assessment, cardiovascular risk evaluation, medication review and lifestyle counselling, all on a structured follow-up schedule.
Do you handle pediatric emergencies?
We provide pediatric outpatient consultation and stabilisation for non-critical conditions. For acute pediatric emergencies, we recommend the nearest tertiary hospital emergency department; our team can coordinate the onward referral if needed.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring your CNIC, any previous medical reports or imaging, current medication list including over-the-counter supplements, vaccination records (for children), and details of any allergies. This allows the consulting physician to make the most of the appointment time.
